Development of this website was funded in part by a Local History Grant from the Public Record Office of Victoria and, in keeping with the community spirit of Koonung Cottage, partly by the donation of many volunteer hours.
The purpose of the website is to record the history of Koonung Cottage and the land and building in which it is located. Content was researched, written and designed by Jennifer McNeice in 2014-15. The website was published and launched on 19 August 2015.
Koonung Cottage holds most of the images used on this site. Images from other sources are identified on the page on which they are used, with copyright permission where applicable. Images used from State Library Victoria were identified in the Library catalogue as not having copyright restrictions. The header image is from a sketch donated to Koonung Cottage by artist Bob Nichol. Koonung Cottage has attempted to identify people in photographs and sought permission to publish images and names. If you are concerned about copyright or privacy please contact Koonung Cottage.
Some of the information on this site was obtained from written submissions and from a series of afternoon teas where participants were invited to share their recollections. Block quotes have come from these sources and are not individually attributed. Assistance from the following contributors is gratefully acknowledged:
